Strawberry scented anointing oil? In the Summer of 2000, the
evening before leaving on a trip to Saskatchewan, a friend visited
with a gift of red oil. She thought I might use it for this
assignment but there was just one problem. It smelled like
strawberries. It is important that the details of intercessory
assignments are scripturally based, and scripture does not mention
strawberry scented anointing oil. I thanked her for her
thoughtfulness realizing I could not use it.

The next morning as I was preparing to leave, I felt I should check it one more time. Another friend who was accompanying me on this trip had been there the night before, and had also smelt the oil. I opened the vile and we both smelled it again. Over night a miracle had occurred! The Lord had changed the oil! It now smelt like sweet apples!

Song of Solomon immediately came to mind. This book mentions apples throughout and seems to infer them as the antidote for unrequited love. Chapter 7:8  says the scent of his lover's breath is like apples. I dubbed this oil 'intimacy oil'.

The previous year I was awakened early one morning to the Holy Spirit's words, "The prairies are the backbone of Canada."

The news that morning reported on the hardships of the prairie farmers, and their quest for federal aid as the land was once again suffering from a drought. Jesus had planted the seed of intercession in my spirit, and now it was about to manifest.

My friend and I arrived in Saskatchewan with the special 'intimacy oil' and pulled over to the side of the highway. The Lord told me to walk into the open field beside us. I walked a little then stopped and knelt by a fallen tree. The anointing increased as a prayer of repentance welled up in my heart. For many years a condescending attitude has prevailed over the prairies from many of the other provinces. I repented on their behalf as my tears fell onto the soil. He then told me to anoint my lips with some of the 'intimacy oil' and kiss the land.

When I did this, a beautiful prophetic word came forth declaring His longing to embrace Saskatchewan, heal her wounds, and fulfill her destiny.

"I am coming close to be intimate with you once again, I will
remove your reproach, and you shall bear much fruit."

"No longer will they call you deserted, or name your land desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah (my delight is in her), and your land Beulah (married); for the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married." Isaiah 62:4.

With His apple scented miracle oil symbolizing His loving Presence, Saskatchewan's  healing miracle had begun. The love between Jesus and His beloved prairies is satisfied and intimate.

Nine years later her fruit continues to grow. Her destiny is being fulfilled!
